5.11 Installation and distance between the transducers

This screen shows the theoretical distance (Dt) at which the transducers should be placed

to work in the best conditions. The practical distance (Dp) is explained in the paragraph

5.14.

It is recommended to fix initially only one of the transducers since in general there are

small differences between the theoretical and the optimal distance. The fine adjustment of

the position of the second transducer is done by using the option "Signal Strength" of the

menu (see paragraph 5.13 page 24).

In case the installation is made by means of the alignment guide, it is recommended to

place the transducer TR1 with the gel at the end of the guide so that its inner side

matches the zero point of the ruler.

To place the transducers it is essential to apply a layer of ultrasound gel at its base. This

gel is supplied with the equipment.

5.12 Fixing the transducers

The transducers should be placed so that the liquid flows from TR1 to TR2, in order that

when the liquid flows in the usual direction, the displayed flow rate has a positive sign.
